About Retractable World
There is no perfect Retractable Screen! People are sometimes surprised when we say this. Every brand has it's strengths and weaknesses. How you want to use the screen, how often and who will use it are important apsects to discuss before deciding on the best retractable screen for you.
For Bi-fold Doors
These generally open outwards, so a retractable screen can be mounted inside at the end of the door where the doors stack. This ensures the best access and versatility of the retractable screen. If Bi-fold Doors stack inside, then the retractable screen must be fitted outside. Great care must be taken to considerBi-fold door hinges, handles and otherdoor furniture, as these may impact on how the retractable screen can be fitted. If you are building ahome or renovating, with a plan or want to include Bi-fold doors, it would be wise to discuss this with us earlyin planning stage, aswe may be able to give information or advice that can help get the best outcome and perhaps save money.
For Sliding Stacker Doors
These too generally slide and stack on the outside, requiring the retractable screento be fitted on the inside.Usually we fit the housingon the mullion, but can also be at the end of thedoor frame too. Like Bi-foldDoors, great care needs to be taken when planning the door furniture to ensure it doesn'tintrude on the sliding space required by the retractable screen.
For Servery Windows
There is an array of different serveryconfiurations today.Ideally though you want to be able to pull the retractable screen down so that you don't need any tracking attached on the bench top. Think about how high your Servery Window will be too, as if it is too hight you winlt be able to easily reach the screen to pull it down, especially when reaching over a bench or sink. Have the Window reveal made as deep as possible because the more room in the reveal the more options you will have to fit screens, blinds and/shutters.
